My Passion for Homebuilding

I don't see what I do as just "building houses," I work with people to create a home.  I'm very sentimental and like the idea that I help people create the place where family memories will be made.

letter_q What do you love about being a John Wieland Builder?
A.
I love this company ever since I've started because I have witnessed from the top down that we are a company that cares.  We care about our customers, our community and each other.  It is nice to be somewhere that you know this concept is practiced, not just talked about.

My Most Memorable Homeowner Story

Shortly before Hurricane Katrina, I worked with a couple who moved to Atlanta from New Orleans into one of our townhomes.  Since they were only a family of four they opted not to finish a retreat and bathroom on an upper floor.  During Katrina, 10 of their relatives were displaced and moved in with them to the unfinished space.  They were making due but the longer things dragged out their patience waned.  In conversation one day I mentioned their story to one of our trades.  He suggested we get the rest of the trades and vendors together to help them finish the bathroom.  Within a week we finished their bathroom at a substantially discounted rate and helped alleviate some of the stress for our homeowners in their time of need.
